History

Engineering Without Borders Catalan Organisation was formed in 1992 due to the interest of a students group from l’Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona. We created the organisation in order to go on trips for project identification and technical support on field, as well as raising awareness and reporting about the situation of the developing countries within the university field.

Cooperation projects carried out at the beginning of the entity, evolved into comprehensive intervention programmes for development.

Concerning education, it takes as a common reference the promotion of technology towards human development in several engineering faculties and universities. That is to pass on the experience and knowledge of EWB into the field of International Cooperation in addition to promote awareness-raising, participation and voluntary work.
