About us

EWB Catalonia is an organization that supports multidisciplinary community-driven development worldwide. Thanks to the effort of professionals, teachers and students, EWB works in order to ensure the universal access to basic services, whereas accompanying social change and strengthening of the population of the South, while respecting the cultural and technical features.

Principles

Engineering without Borders is a non-denominational, non-profit organization which is independent from political parties or other bodies.

EWB understands COOPERATION as an exchange based on solidarity, with consistent mutual benefit. We understand DEVELOPMENT as an evolutionary, interdependent and sustainable process that cannot impose constraints on different cultures. A process that must contribute to increase civil participation in society as well as to give civil society a more prominent role.

On the other hand, in the South, EWB work always in partnership with a counterpart: a local non-profit organisation together with EWB diagnoses the needs in the area and the best way to fulfil them. The counterpart organisations also participate in the arrangement of courses in the North. Beyond projects, EWB understands the relationship with partners as a shared commitment to political and social transformation.
